Baby Talk - Parent Infant Program (Birth - 3 yrs) Minimize

The Hearing School of the Southwest’s Parent-Infant Program (Baby Talk) serves families with infants and toddlers who are deaf or hard of hearing and live in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Once a family learns of their child’s hearing impairment they will be made aware of our Parent-Infant program through one of many possible avenues. We will work with the various hospitals and professionals in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex to provide informational pamphlets for any newborn that does not pass the initial screening. The information provided will instill a measure of hope at what often proves to be a very difficult time for many families. We will also educate the various medical professionals that these families may turn to for guidance as to the services that we can provide.

When we are contacted by a family with a newly diagnosed hearing impaired child our goal will be to provide parents, siblings, extended family members, and care-givers with educational and emotional support so they can create an environment that promotes the development of their child. We are excited to be extending needed resources and services to children and families.

Toddle Time. Toddle time is a great way to share new language learning activities with your young child. The sessions are held in collaboration with faculty members and newly identified families. The session are one day a week for 2 hours a day for 6-8 weeks.  You participate with your child in the class so you can carry over the language lessons learned in the play sessions. Please contact us for more information on dates and times of future sessions.
